Sweet Indulgence hired me for branding and design work (catalogues, cards, banners, wall banner for trade show, stationery), as well as catalogue photography. This meant shooting many cakes and deep etching them in photoshop for the catalogue, as well as taking some lifestyle shots.
RESTAURANT + CAFE PHOTOGRAPHY
CAFE & RESTAURANT PHOTOGRAPHY
Over the last 3 years I have photographed at more than 300 locations - mostly restaurant and cafe shoots, plus many other shoots to highlight businesses for marketing purposes - such as Vintage wares, home decor and local businesses. Much of this work was for the Mornington Peninsula Magazine where I worked as a freelance designer for over three years often being sent out to shoot for clients as well - and many for the publication EatDrink Mornington Peninsula. The rest are my own clients where I offer photography packages to suit their needs.
FOOD PREP, STYLING & PHOTOGRAPHY
I have had a passion for cooking since my early twenties when we’d bought our first home, began entertaining friends and I became enamoured with Jamie Oliver and any cooking show I could possibly see. It probably stems way back earlier - I remember my mum’s Women’s Weekly recipe card library that I loved to cook from as a child, though I am not sure I would rate my efforts. My mother wasn’t an enthusiastic cook, so it was a world I had to discover on my own.
Combining my love of cooking and photography is more recent. While I did dabble writing a raw food blog (with some really bad food photography) back in 2007 when my late husband was battling cancer https://juleshaines.livejournal.com/ food photography wasn’t really a ‘thing’ then, blogging was still fairly new and keeping it up with a toddler, a design business and a sick husband wasn’t really doable at the time. Instagram hadn’t even been invented.
I still love to cook, try new recipes, adapt where I think it’s needed, shoot the dishes and most importantly create great food memories and experiences for my family.
PHOTOGRAPHY FOR BRANDS
EatDrink Mornington Peninsula 2019
EatDrink Mornington Peninsula 2019 was a local publication highlighting local food, beer and wine. My role was to design the logo, design the layout and produce a mock up booklet to show potential clients, a Media Kit, the basis of the website and all photography including bookings and client liaison - all in a period of just 12 weeks.

Bulk Whole Foods + Raw Meet
Bulk Whole Foods owner Bibi LaFleur initially engaged me to create her logo. From there, I went on to do all the branding - stationery, brochures, banners, photography, even two shop designs. This included all branding for the raw food cafe “Raw Meet” .- of which I even came up with the name!
